The Real World
Being that this is my first blog, I can definitely see why so many people do it. It shares every thought you have and it’s practically the new trendy version of a diary. Speaking of new, my life is about to change in a matter of four months. Almost everyday I hear someone say to me with a huge amount of sympathy in their voice, “You’re going into the real world.” Is that really true, though? What is the real world? Now that the economy isn’t doing well and they are saying this is the worst possible year for college students to graduate (figures), I feel like I’m getting ripped off on what I’m supposed to think the “real world” really is. I keep my fingers crossed hoping I’ll land a decent job after graduation, which is why I think everyday how much I will really miss college. I want this blog to connect with current college students, especially lower classman, to really see that these four years are going to flash before their eyes. It sounds so cliché, but it’s so true. I also want this blog to be a mini electronic college survival guide for those students to realize how much college teaches you about life, everyday college encounters, and the experiences you will share with new friends. Having experienced much of this over the past four years, really opened up my eyes and made me appreciate every second of my college career. I’m finally starting to realize, after all these years, how much every second counts.
