New Beginnings with New People

One thing about college, besides getting an education of course, is the friends you make. There are the friends you know you’re going to keep and there are the ones that won’t go beyond the college border. I made five great friends over the past four years. I had a lot of friends come and go but it eventually filtered down to these five great girls. I know for a fact that I will stay friends with them even after I graduate. I always hear stories about how people say they tried hard to keep in touch with their college friends but unfortunately they never did. I don’t want to be one of those people who “tried” staying in touch. It’s the effort you put into the friendship that will make or break it. It’s pretty amazing how much we are similar and different at the same time. Sometimes I just sit back and think how we manage to never get sick of each other. I must admit that we bicker at times and argue about who will do the dishes, but in the end we know that we have each other’s backs. I learned that college is not only a learning environment, but also a chance to make good changes in life. For example, it gives you a chance to make life long friendships with people you can be yourself around and share your darkest secrets with. In my opinion, it’s important to go to college having the attitude to make new friends and to start making memories with new people. Who knows? These could be the people you invite to your own wedding.
